The story of Captain Paola Echeverri
SATENA honors female resilience
In October 2025, SATENA pays tribute to the strength and resilience of Colombian women through the inspiring story of Captain Paola Echeverri, a pilot with almost 30 years of experience and more than 12,000 flight hours, who faced and overcame breast cancer while working as a flight instructor.
As part of the PINK MODE 2025 campaign, SATENA will bring health and prevention days to Tumaco, Nariño, benefiting more than 1,000 families with clinical examinations and mammograms. In addition, the airline will extend its self-care message to passengers throughout the country, with symbolic actions on board and aircraft decorated with the pink ribbon.
'The news was devastating, but the support from SATENA and my colleagues was key to my recovery', says Captain Echeverri, who today continues to train new generations of aviators.
This year, a crew made up exclusively of women and a symbolic race among collaborators reinforce SATENA's commitment to life, health and well-being of Colombians.
More than connecting territories, SATENA connects life stories that inspire hope and transformation.
